Teacher Appreciation Day Bouquet

Multicolored bouquet of felt flowers with wooden button centers in a white flower pot

As a former teacher, there is nothing better I loved more than a clean, pretty desk, and some Flair pens!

Knowing that, I made a Teacher Appreciation Day Bouquet for my kids’ teachers this year.  Here’s how:

What you need:

Papermate Flair Pens

Flower pot

Pebbles or some other pot filler

Felt

Buttons

Thread or Embroidery Floss

Needle

Hot Glue Gun and Glue Sticks

How to make felt flowers:

  1. Cut the felt using the scallop pattern found here.
  2. Thread your needle with a single thread of embroidery floss or just regular old sewing thread.  Tie a knot at the end, and do a large stitch along the straight edge of the scallop.
  3. Pull the thread so that it gathers.
  4. Bring the needle back around through the other side of the scallop to make the flower shape and secure the thread by tying a knot.
  5. Sew a button on the top, secure the thread again, and cut off the excess.

6. Hot glue a flower to the bottom (or top) of each pen, and put them into the pot full of pebbles.

Don’t forget, there are some many ways to show your teacher you appreciate them!
