Welcome to our newest series. In “Friday Favorites,” our team will share a handful of favorite items. These can range from clothes to beauty products to recipes to books and anything in between.

This week is all about sharing the love through valentines. I don’t know about you, but my creative soul does NOT like signing pre-made boxed valentines or cards. Whether you’re giving to a lover, friend, or making some for the kids homemade is a great way to say “I care about you!”

Explosion Box

This is the most complicated card on this list, but it is also the most fun! Make a series of paper boxes with lids. As you open each lid, the box sides fall away revealing notes, pictures, or small gifts. This would be absolutely perfect for a proposal or anniversary. Fill each box with memories and things you love about your partner. In the smallest box, place your engagement ring or gift.

The tutorial link leads to a make-it-yourself from scratch tutorial by Jennifer Maker, the Queen of Cricut, and includes the necessary SVG files. If you don’t have a paper cutter and don’t want to cut by hand, you can also buy this premade box on Amazon and customize it.

Heart Coloring Pages

These coloring pages are perfect for kid’s valentines. You can let your kids color them to give to friends and family. Alternately, you can hand out blank pages with a small package of crayons or colored pencils for the recipient to color on their own.

Love Puns

I love to laugh, and a good pun never fails to make me giggle. They’re guaranteed to be the hit of the children’s card exchange. These cute printable cards are perfect for Galentines too! Show your best gal pal how much you appreciate her by sharing a good laugh together.

Valentine Gift Tags

Not big on gushy cards? Would you rather share your love with a well-chosen gift? That’s ok, I’ve got you covered. These lovely printable gift tags are perfect. Print, cut, and attach to your package. It’s easy peasy!

Paper Snowflakes

Paper snowflakes aren’t just for Christmas! Make them with hearts for a fun and unique Valentine decoration or card. Use this 12×12 patterned paper for especially festive and large snowflakes. Kids will have a blast making or receiving them. You could even cut them out of fabric to make a custom doily for your romantic dinner for two.
