Easy Basic Quiche

0

This isn’t going to be a novella telling you the history of baking before I give you a recipe. This is a great “breakfast for dinner” option, a brunch potluck dish for MOPS, or a weekly staple.  Trust me when I say this basic quiche recipe is easy, customizable, and delicious!

Ingredients:

Deep Dish Pie Crust
6 Eggs
1 cup Milk
8 oz Cheddar Cheese
1 lb. bacon
Salt and Pepper, to taste

Steps:

  1.  Preheat your oven to 375 degrees
  2. Cook your bacon any way you prefer.  Once cooled, chop into crumbles.
  3. Whisk your eggs, milk, and seasoning together.
  4. Add half of the cheese and bacon to the egg mixture.
  5. Pour into pie crusts. * See tip 3*
  6. Bake for 25 minutes.
  7. Sprinkle remaining cheese/bacon on top of the quiches and cook for another 20 minutes.  You may want to use a pie shield or aluminum foil around the crust edges to prevent burning.
  8. Remove from oven.  You can test for doneness by sticking a butter knife into the center of the quiche.  If it comes out clean, you’re all done!
  9. Best served warm!

Tips:

  1.  You can use almost any additions you want in this recipe.  You can make your own pie crust, swap out meats, and/or add veggies.
  2. Since Deep Dish pie crusts commonly come in a pack of 2, I like to 1.5 this recipe to fill two crusts.  We can gift one to a friend, eat it, or freeze it for another time.
  3. I like to cover a baking sheet with aluminum foil, and place the pie crusts on there before pouring in the egg mixture.
